This collection of photographs was captured entirely within Murlawirrapurka (Rymill Park) and Kadlitpina (Rundle Park). I sought to be an explorer, both in the way that I moved through these spaces with my camera and the way that I appreciated the environment. I was inspired by black and white photographs of the moon, taken by Neil Armstrong and Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin on the Apollo 11 mission. Presented as a contact sheet, these images are at once strange and familiar. I’ve seen the lake, the trees, the fountain, and the bats so many times - yet through the viewfinder of my camera, I am able to see them anew.
