These images were created after a relative took his own life. My intention was to explore the state of mind that I found myself in for the three months that followed; the way that the familiarity of my surroundings was replaced with the sensation that everything around me was charged with emotion. My focus was on stillness, silence, the slowing down of time, the resulting interest in small detail, and the way that vacuous space resonated with how I felt. The photographs were all taken at my home -a nod to the unexpected realness of this happening in my family.
